A step-by-step onboarding walks you through setting up each record NZTA Waka Kotahi expects, not a blank form you're left to figure out. Built-in training modules keep everyone's skills current, and reminder notifications give you plenty of warning to book equipment maintenance or update a record before it lapses, so nothing's half-finished or guessed at when the unannounced review time comes around.
It's not just a folder with blank forms. Vicky guides the work itself.
Vicky walks you through IO and VI performance assessments, improvement records, training records, and onboarding a new vehicle inspector or offboarding one who's leaving. When an NZTA Waka Kotahi letter of findings arrives, it guides you through the next steps too. VIRM amendments are filtered as well, so you only see the ones relevant to your inspection categories. Never write out a controlled document record again, photograph your Blue Star receipt, the record automatically populates, you simply sign the stationery out on your phone or tablet as needed. That's a handful of what's in there, there's plenty more.
Why Vicky exists
After six years as a Certification Officer at NZTA Waka Kotahi, I watched thousands of good vehicle inspection businesses struggle with the same problem. Keeping a Quality Management System compliant is time-consuming, paper-heavy and genuinely stressful when a review comes around.
So I built the solution.
Vicky is the tool I wished I had as an IO Representative for the multiple sites I oversaw before I joined NZTA Waka Kotahi.
It's a mobile app purpose-built for NZ WoF, CoF, Entry and HVSC Inspecting Organisations. It digitises every NZTA QMS master record into a single dashboard that shows you exactly where you stand before NZTA Waka Kotahi comes knocking, and walks you through fixing anything that needs attention.
I'm Patrick O'Carroll, and I created Vicky with my co-founder Andrew Johnston, a Full Stack Software Engineer with more than 20 years' experience.
